Well friends,it is now placement time for the final years. The core companies will now visit our campus to pick the best talents......The first company may be L&T or ABB.
It is a general trend that the students first opt for the software bulk recruiters and then go for the
core dream jobs. I think this kind of practice relieves pressure from a student as he/she already has a job in his/her pocket. The students can then also opt for OFF-CAMPUS placements.
The students, who are going to the softwares ,must know how to use their departmental knowledges in the soft sector. The companies like TCS,CTS,IBM and many others cater to many core engineering industries. So a mechanical engineer has always an edge in that particular field.
Suppose the software firm is a given a job to tailor a software for a power plant.
So a student from IT/CSE background will fail to do that without the help from expert mechanical engineers( and engg. also from other core background ). Mech enggs who have a sound software and technical knowledge will act as a inter face in the making process.
He will identify the parameters for the software and also some limits.
Our alumni are the trend-setters.......in one of the recent issues of our DEJA VU( Thanks toLC)
few alumni members interview was published. It was great to find that two of them(FROM METALLURGY ) work for SATYAM in aerospace domain. And if u study the alumni list there are loads of these examples.......core students flourishing in soft sectors
So , a mechanical engineer has ample opportunities to flourish in the software sector (since whether it is core/software.....logical and rational thinking is all that is needed)

Why mechanical, automotive and design engineering?
Because you like to know how things work and you want to make them work better – faster, quieter, cleaner, more efficiently. You like the challenge of real, practical problems and finding new and innovative solutions to them.
Engineering is a diverse, wide-ranging profession. Graduates from mechanical and automotive engineering have followed challenging careers in aerospace, the automotive industry, power production, robotics, project management, consultancy and investment banking. Their projects range from the small scale to the large and complex: from the design of a toy to the development and testing of a jet engine.

Our beloved institute and mechanical engg. dept
Anlytical attitude, patience, intelligence, and hard work are the
Skill sets of A TRUE MECHANICAL ENGINEER.
Hi friends.....our college has treaded a long path of 47 yrs of success. Alongwith the college ,Mechanical Engineering Dept. (one of the oldest and the largest dept.) has also been an integral part of success. It has seen many of the brightest brains on the mother earth, who have excelled in every sector they have gone for.
